Florida Everglades
Florida Everglades
Spanning the southern tip of the Florida peninsula and most of Florida Bay, Everglades National Park is the only subtropical wetlands preserve in North America. The park is known for its rich bird life, particularly large wading birds such as the roseate spoonbill, wood stork, great blue heron and a variety of egrets. It is also the only place in the world where alligators and crocodiles exist side by side.

With the region’s top trained naturalists at the helm, students travel by motor coach and explore the area by airboat, kayak and canoe or slog on foot through this amazing habitat. Studies of cypress, mangroves, sea turtles, manatees, alligators, ospreys, sharks and dolphins are possible and snorkeling the coral reefs underscore the adventure.

This destination has much to offer to science students and classes studying the environment and ecosystems.
